Chip Wilson

Legacy Documentary series

Chip Wilson (founder of lululemon) worked with Human Biography to document the stories of how he created lululemon, while also holding a series of private interviews with his family members to create a digital diary of their memories and lives. Over 130 videos were created from over 170 hours of interviews with Sharad Kharé.

Some of the the content was used to help create a memoir book about Chip's life, while the library of videos are held privately for only the family to view.

The Human Biography team was given exclusive access to capture the true story behind this fascinating entrepreneur that changed the way people dressed in popular culture as we know it. We got to travel with Chip to important places in his life, and talk about his living legacy and how important his family is to him. Through this in-depth process, we got to document stories from both a professional and personal side.

We went through an entire life's collection of historical photographs, starting from Chip's childhood up until the present day. An archive of his experiences in sports, businesses, travels and family life helped to fill in the blanks of the story and give context to this man’s incredible body of work.

Orene Askew Legacy

Documentary Legacy Film

Our award-winning documentary The O Show was created in collaboration with Telus Storyhive and premiered across Canada and beyond in the film festival circuit in 2021.

This documentary explores the work and life of Orene Askew as a motivational speaker, DJ and activist. She reflects on her life as an Afro-Indigenous Two-Spirited leader and how her communities have shaped her identity.

 

Arkay Legacy

Corporate & Family Legacy Films

Human Biography worked with Arkay Packaging to create their history mini-documentary and HR recruitment video. As a world-famous and family-owned business of 100 years, Arkay had quite the story to tell and our team helped to share those stories.

Our team has also had the opportunity to cover several of Arkay's historic events in New York City, including their 95th and 100th anniversary parties. We created highlight reels like the ones below to capture the mood and memory of those exciting nights!

The Lundin Legacy

Feature-Length Legacy Film

The Lundin family commissioned Human Biography us to create a documentary about their father Adolf Lundin, chronicling his life from early childhood up to his rise as an industry giant.

Our team travelled to Sweden, Switzerland, England, and across Canada to interview Adolf's family, business partners and friends. The final film exists as a private legacy piece for the Lundin Group, as well as for the Lundin family.

 

Redavid Legacy

Family Legacy DOCUMENTARY

Human Biography worked with the Redavid Family to create an intimate look into the life and legacy of Leonardo Redavid, the founder of the world-renowned Redavid haircare products company.

After interviewing both Leonardo and his son, Marco, we combed through historical footage and family photos that the Redavid’s had accumulated over the years. The result is a detailed account of one man’s extraordinary life that was fuelled by true passion and grit.

HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA


 
 

Human Biography was commissioned to document his Holiness the Dalai Lama while he conducted lectures to a private group of leaders. Human Biography arranged for the location for the meeting while also taking the opportunity to facilitate TED's founder Chris Anderson to produce a one on one interview with his Holiness for TED.

The entire process was documented by Human Biography, and the footage is held privately with the Dalai Lama Center for Peace as a record of the whole meeting and process.

 

Santa Ono Legacy

PERSONAL Legacy INTERVIEW

We had the privilege of holding a one-on-one interview with the then President of UBC, Santa Ono in his home in British Columbia. We discussed Santa’s background and upbringing as a young student all the way to becoming a leader of educational institutions around the continent.

Today, Santa Ono serves as the 15th President of the University of Michigan.

Dr. Ron Burnett Legacy

PERSONAL LEGACY INTERVIEW

We had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Ron Burnett while he was serving as the President & Vice-Chancellor of Emily Carr University. We felt particularly honoured to produce this interview for Dr. Burnett as it was one of the last times we would be able to speak with him before his retirement from ECUAD leadership in 2018.

Having worked with ECUAD for the past 20 years and now with the completion of the stunning new campus in Vancouver, we spoke to Dr. Burnett about the incredible work that went into this latest project and the lasting legacy he's created both within this institution and beyond.

For the subject, this is a chance to reflect on a life well lived, celebrate accomplishments, and share their hopes for the future. For their family, it’s an opportunity to honor and connect with their loved one, creating a lasting tribute that will be cherished for years to come.
